Ferries :
Ferries are part of the road infrastructure in BC. They are integrated in many itineraries and connect all the islands to the continent, a unique way to hop from place to place.
Ferries between Port Hardy and Prince Ruppert (the "Inside Passage"), as well as the new "Discovery Passage" ferry between Port Hardy and Bella Coola are giving breathtaking views and amazing oportunities to see the wild West Coast.
Ferries said to be "inside ferries" (crossing rivers or lakes) a free for all.
Ferries connecting the main land and Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islangs or the Sunshine Coast have a cost that varies depending on the season, the vehicle and the age of the travellers (youth and senior discounts).
Some waiting lines are to be expected, specially during long week ends and summer months week ends.
Reservation is mandatory on the Discovery Passage and Inside Passage.
